Surf Camp Algarve
An Oasis Within a Nature Reserve!
Situated in the stunning Portuguese wilderness, our Surf Camp is the perfect place to turn off your mind. Also when surfing your heart out in our surf courses, you’ll feel a complete sense of ease. But it’s not all about recreation – we also do party nights, have BBQs & beers together and play pool.
Our Property
Run by one of the Algarve’s most dedicated surfers, our Surf Camp Algarve is a place celebrating surf culture. Samu founded this camp in 2002 and has constantly refurbished and extended it ever since. In the beginning there was the lodge with its pool only. Then they built the beautiful bungalows and then, a few years ago, the campsite was ready. But that’s not all, apart from the pool and bar, you’ll also find a mini ramp and new beach volleyball court on this large property.
Lodge
The Lodge is the main building of the Surf Camp Algarve and has the pool right in front of it. Also this is where we have breakfast and our surf camp dinners take place. After a long day of surfing, sun and fun you can crash in your cozy bed. All our rooms are equipped with comfy, wooden beds and new bathrooms with rain showers. In case you’re up for a social evening, we have an outdoor bar right next to the pool and once a week we our legendary BBQ night.
Apartment
The spacious apartment at Surfcamp Algarve offers plenty of room for a relaxed surf vacation for families or groups of 3 or 4. On the ground floor, you’ll find a large living room with a fully equipped open kitchen, as well as a separate bedroom (with 2 single beds) featuring its own bathroom with shower/WC. The second bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed, is located on the mezzanine level and is accessible via a staircase in the living room. What makes this room special is the open bathroom concept with a freestanding bathtub.
Bungalows
If you like having your own space and freedom, you should consider our bungalows. They are detached from the main building, situated in the beautiful surrounding landscape. From your private terrace you can let your eyes wander over the green hills while enjoying a coffee. Every bungalow is equipped with an ensuite bathroom, a comfy bed and a terrace.
Sheddie Campsite
We pushed camping to the next level – from tents to sheddies, our comfy, wooden cabins. Our sheddies are equipped with beds already, so you don’t have to bring mattresses, sheets or blankets. Also, the beds are mounted waist-high, this way you can easily climb in and snuggle under the covers. Under your beds theres is a big open space offering room for your luggage. We have two types of sheddies. A smaller version with a double bed and a bigger version where you can have a single bed or alternatively one double.
Accommodation Types
We offer rooms in the main building, detached bungalows as well as our little campsite equipped with wooden cabins, the sheddies. Our rooms in the main building have all been recently refurbished and feature beautifully tiled ensuite baths with rain showers. Also the bungalows do have ensuite baths and their own little terraces. We offer double rooms and double bungalows as well as dorm rooms and dorm bungalows. The sheddies (deluxe & regular) are equipped with beds, mattresses, sheets & blankets.
Food
Breaky is always included. We have two separate dining areas, one right next to the pool for the guests of our lodge & bungalows. The other one is on the campsite for our sheddie guests. In any case, we provide a big breakfast buffet with bread, cheese, cold cuts, spreads, cereals plus ingredients and fruits. Of course, we have free coffee and tea, too. Dinner is optional but really worth it! We have our legendary BBQ night, go out for pizza and the remaining days our camp chef cooks up a 3 course menu for you.
Bar
For having a good time you don’t even have to leave our lovely Surf Camp Algarve! The bar is right there. Once a week we have our legendary BBQ night where we like to have some drinks. But our bar is open for you every night anyway. Sit back, have a drink, look at the starry night sky of Raposeira and chat with our guests and team. If you like to go out, preparty at our bar and hit the bars of Lagos or Sagres later on.
Pool Area
The pool, sun terrace and garden are the perfect place to catch some sun and relax after your surf sessions. Work on your tan, read a book, have a cold beer or just sit back and relax. Our pool is located in front of the main building of our Surf Camp Algarve, the lodge. But it is accessible for all of our guests, no matter if you’ve booked a room, bungalow or a sheddie.
Mini Ramp
At our campsite we’ve got set up a proper mini ramp for you guys! If board sports is your thing, you’ve got the chance to do what you love all day long. Spend some water time on your surfboard during your surf course and afterwards grab a deck and work the mini ramp. We’ve got skateboards available on the campsite if you didn’t bring your own. Come and learn to surf and skate with us!
Beach Volleyball
Also on our campsite we’ve set up a beach volleyball court for you! Play a match with your friends on the white sand just for fun or take part in our weekly competitions to chose the best players among you. Of course, the beach volleyball court is there for all of our guests. Just pick up the ball from our reception and hit it.
Activities
You’ll spend quiet some time exercising the most fun pastime in the world! With our surf courses we take you on 2 surf sessions a day, so you have plenty of water time to get better in what you love doing. However, at the Surf Lodge Algarve you cannot only ride waves but horses, too. Riding is Linda’s passion, who runs the camp. She’s got horses on whose backs you can explore the nature reserve. Moreover, we offer yoga, SUP tours and dinner nights as well as BBQ parties.
